Urban Living

We're finally settling (however slowly) here in London, after a week of unpacking and all sorts of stuff, we've finally managed to set up our couch and sat on it! Haha!

I'm so happy about this great move, I'm feeling ecstatic, I'm ready for the new challenges.

Cheers to new beginnings and happy endings!

The Future is Equal

Dublin Pride 2015 Dublin Pride 2015 Dublin Pride 2015 Dublin Pride 2015 Dublin Pride 2015 Dublin Pride 2015

I'm not one to make black and white pictures like others can do, sure any photos can be turned into black and white but I just couldn't. I love colours.

Few weeks ago, the world celebrates #MarriageEquality just in time for the parade which was going to happen anyway, regardless if YES or NO (to marriage equality) will win. Our meetup group - Irish Street Photography had already planned to walk around the street to shoot this event. I was given a whistle by one of the event's host and I made sure to use it mightily when the parade started. It got me teary seeing them so happy, this year was all about celebration of freedom. Ireland became the very first to say YES to marriage equality thru people's vote. My vote did matter and I'm very proud to be part of it.

The One and a Dishwasher

Hunting for an apartment can be both exciting and exhausting at the same time. I always believe that “THE ONE” will come for sure but it is also our job to look around. It can’t happen that it will just fall on our lap right? Anyway, with or without prospect, I've already started pulling bedroom ideas from Pinterest. I like everything pastel and bright. Oh and also, I'd wish for a dishwasher! Seriously it's a game changer, it solves all the relationship problems ^.^*

I was browsing my tumblr posts earlier and I saw this digital art I created back in 2012 (?), I must get back to doing this again, otherwise I'll forget how to!

The Most Beautiful Things

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched
- they must be felt with the heart.

And I'm grateful to have felt it over and over, again and again.

Farewell My Friend

Ring of Kerry Ireland

Please do remember that you with your sweet smile will never be forgotten.
Goodbye Cecilia...

Edit: 12 April 2015

So it's out there, everyone knows the passing of my dear friend. I was told to keep quiet about it for a while because gardai (police) is still investigating about her sudden death. It is hard to suppress the feeling of deep sadness when you have to put a brave face in front of many people. You begin to wonder and ask too many questions but you can't really get any answer.

I often wonder what it would be like to be locked in the dark hole, how could you get out of it?

Cecilia was full of life. She's the kind of girl who always wanted to thrive, to grow and never give up. She's also life of a party, never been shy and always been friendly. I became friends with her instantly because she was truly kind. We do things together, she never say no to my invites, she likes to try new things and we often laugh about silly things. I like her. I really really like her.

Then I became busy, very very busy. The last time I've spoken to her was two weeks ago. She just came back from a business trip in Singapore and we were talking about her plans to move there because she loves it there....

I wish I was sensitive enough to sense that there was something wrong... but how could I'd be of help if I didn't know about her depression. How could you reach someone if they don't let you know...

I wish I ask more.

Nothing Great Comes From Easy

I'm not one to like cartoons that much. I remember to love watching a few back when I was little but I might have outgrew it. Baymax have caught my attention though, he's the cutest robot that doesn't look like a robot. He's fluppy, caring and soft spoken just like his inventor Tadashi (Hiro's brother).

This film touches the emotional side of the main character Hiro, he's inspired to save the world to revenge his brother's passing. For him, Baymax would always be the extension of his beloved brother.

Now given the fact that's he's a total genius, he improves his brother's robot. Which speaks to me so much because of the work I do. Well, I'm not a genius neither can do magic, I have my fair share of frustration it can be upsetting sometimes.

You see my job is to improve things also, make things fancy schmancy, be it on web, live presentation or information that will make people understand what they see - but it should be pretty... it is what expected of me. Behind all these things beautiful, I experience lots of failure but I will ever give up for sure.

True enough, nothing great comes from easy.

Chic Yellow Coat and an Inspiration

DSCF6162 DSCF6164 DSCF6173

They say it's destiny meeting new people, they give some kind of purpose and you wonder how you were both at the same place at a given time..... Well, in my case, it's not really a coincidence, yesterday, I met Ania. Ania is one of the leaders in our Irish Street Photography Group (ISPG) but we were only introduced yesterday and I like her instantly. She's cool, hip and feisty, everyone love her! Her effect on me is something unique though, last night, I was inspired to draw her...

Just Do It

Docklands at Dawn

I realised, life is too short to wait on something.
Time is too precious to do nothing
No matter what it is,

If you have an idea and you think your life will be better because of it
Don't fret, be bold and do something about it
No matter what it is,

Don't be too hard on yourself
Don't be shy to ask questions
No matter what it is,

If things didn't work out as you have planned
It's alright, everything is going to be alright
At least you've tried
No matter what it is,

Seriously, JUST DO IT.

Tiger Store

Tiger Shop

With Tiger store now reigning the city of Dublin, it's easier to find this shop anywhere now and it's always tempting to go in and be trapped of all things cute and cheap. I first found this shop at the Pavilion which is located far far away and the only purpose of coming there was to return a coat I purchased online. But then saw this shop and went home spending little over a hundred euro! Early this year, I've noticed the shop pops up like mushrooms in every places I go. Their stuff are irresistible, I can't literally stay there the whole day just by looking around.

Seriously, this is the new Ikea. A miniature Ikea.

Crème Brûlée

Crème brûlée

I've decided that Crème brûlée will be my favourite dessert from now on.

If I'm being real honest, I'd say my favourite in any course meal would be dessert. I have to have it with coffee or tea no matter how full I'd be. Actually it's the first thing I check in the menu.

#Beeftro is our go to restaurant whenever we feel like eating steaks. They have the yummiest starter and heaven-like desserts. Staff are very polite not to mention they're all good-looking! We didn't have a reservation but the manger took us in which we very much appreciate because we were famished like hungry bears that day.

Good Reads

I'm meant to see an old friend today but I have to cancel last minute due to some circumstances. I never like cancelling on people but this time I just couldn't make it... Moving on, I came home around four in the afternoon with nothing to do. I decided to lounge around the living room, turn the heater on, put some scented candles and sip green tea. While browsing the internet I chance upon #GirlBoss book by Sophia Amoruso, it got me curious because this gorgeous girl used to sell stolen goods on ebay. I have to buy this book! Then it led me to another one (or two) called Not That Kind of Girl by Lena Dunham and How to be a Parisian, wherever you are. I was deciding if I should buy hardcovers or the Kindle version but then I remember I've recently purged my closet and book shelves. If they're available electronically then I shouldn't be hoarding again. Problem solved, I quickly put them in my [amazon] basket and downloaded the books. This made me realise how useful my iPad Mini is, I have plenty of [Kindle] books that I have there and still enjoy to this day because they can be  easily accessible thru that amazing gadget.

I'm pretty much sure I'll revel in these reads, then I guess I'll be busy now reading the books!

Oh Spring!

Ray Ban Store

Spring is finally here! It's freezing cold still but at least I get to see daylight longer and the sun tries to peeps in longer too. Thinking of the seasons, I've decided Spring is my favourite season. I love to see how different flowers began to bloom, lots of greens everywhere and  I get to wear something lighter with coat or leather jacket.

Time flies by, it's February 2015 already. I've plans to do this month, which includes being out on the street to take pictures on Valentine's Day. Also, it's K's birthday on the 11th, she's planning to have a sleep over in the house or perhaps paintballing. I prefer the latter, less things to prepare, you just go there and shoot each other.

A dear friend is also coming over for a visit this month, I'm thinking to bring him to my new favourite meat restaurant in town, it's called Pitt Bros BBQ #eatMEAT

Monday Blues?

Monday Blues

It's one of those days I'm feeling blue... I scribble this macho man out of the blue.

Today was an exact experience of Monday blues for me. For a start, I woke up late and end up cramming to prepare for work. I'm usually an early riser especially on weekdays because I like getting dress and putting my make up well enough to be presentable, also I allot 30 minutes or so listening to an audiobook. But in this case it didn't happen of course.

Yes, I confirm, a cheerful person like me can be unhappy sometimes too. I'd spare you from detailing my not so good Monday, I'm just thankful it's already night time and Monday is nearly over. However, I'm not one to sleep earlier than midnight. To be perfectly honest, I refuse to sleep early. Without any particular reason, I just like to keep myself awake at night, I might be like this forever, I wonder.

Out on the Streets Again

ISPG Street Photos | January 2015

Of course I truly enjoyed the relaxing days not having to wake up early for work. But it has come to an end and was back at work on the 05th of January. Thankfully I have ISPG meet up to look forward to, think it was a nice start for me to pick up my camera again and shoot people. Think this time I'll focus on street photos more.
