[Faux] Fur and Some Light Snow

CaseApp | December 2014

It's icy cold this morning, the grass is covered with light snow. It's time to bring out [faux] fur ^-^. It came late, everyone expects white Christmas this year but that's okay, I know most people secretly wish for warmer days from this side of the world. Even myself prefer to have dry winter than freezing cold weather.

After Christmas Day, we started painting the two bedrooms all white. It's been three days now that our house is in chaotic state and I'm looking forward to see the final result. In the middle of this, I start to read The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying think it's about time for me to rid all the material things that doesn't spark "joy", that's what I learned from Marie Kondo. I've already thrown about 10 bags of clothes and keep counting. Such a great beginning to start the new year.

Merry Christmas!

merryXmas

I'd say no matter how people like me try to avoid Christmas rush, we still end up rushing to the store up to the last minute before everything close on Christmas eve. I strategically planned my errands for the day while I'm at work just to make sure I won't forget anything this time. First we collected the strawberry cheesecake I ordered in Bijou, went to petrol station to have a full tank (in case we decide to go on a road trip on the 25th), had our new door keys duplicated, bought wine, lime, spring onions and lilies! Last but not the least, we headed to the Polish shop where I buy yummy hotdogs ^-^

Yesterday, I've already prepared the macaroni salad and cooked the sauce for spaghetti. Later, I just need to put the marinated chicken (we don't like turkey) in the oven.

Now excuse me while I dash to the airport to pick up my Honey ^,^

Merry Christmas everyone!

Classic Handbag

Looking back, I've purchased designer bags that I think I needed. And then I ended up selling most of them cause I hardly use the bags. Finally coming to my senses, I realised that buying classic bags is the way to go for me to keep and care for them. This Eva Clutch is in my radar for a long time and thankfully, H gifted me this as a Christmas present, even though it's not Christmas yet, I have used it a million times ^o^

Earlier, the plumbers fixed the leak on the ceiling, though I've nothing to do with it but wait. After they're finished, they left leaving the hallway full of dust ^-^ While polishing the floor, I had this brilliant idea to rearrange my furniture (I do this often as I get bored with room arrangement easily). After few hours of cleaning, rearranging and lots of pushing, I'm finally done. Now I'm now sitting comfortably on my bed while I type this post away. Feeling bloody tired now and I think I deserve a treat! I'm treating myself for another classic bag!

My Long Weekend in London

I've always wanted to see London during Christmas holidays and they say Boxing Day (26 December) is mad crazy, they close Oxford Street so everyone can freely cross and shop along the street without worrying getting knock out by a bus. We've decided to stay in Dublin for Christmas so I settled for a long weekend before Christmas week to shop in London instead.
H treated me stay in Holiday Inn Stratford, he says it's better to stay there because it's beside the Westfield Shopping Centre where I did my Christmas shopping. It's very convenient and the hotel is very business like, I didn't see any screaming kids in the hotel which I like haha!

I've got few things for myself and gifts for family and friends. I came there with empty luggage and came back home with full of things. Oh well ^o^

Usually, if I fly to London, I have a list of places I wanted to see and things I want to do. There's always things to do there and my list is endless. My visit to London is frequent and I'm always excited to see new things all the time. I know for sure I will never get tired of this wonderful city.

Sunday Road Trip

Road trips on Sundays are the best, the road is clear and quiet. We're just supposed to buy some groceries at the Asian market but the weather was inviting. Though freezing cold, the sky is clear and the sun was beaming. I suggested to go west to try Noah and Co's American pancakes so off we went.

Luckily, we got there quick before every one else, from what I've heard, it's very popular to locals. The food came in no time, they're a "okay" in my opinion. The pancakes were burnt and so the bacon too :(

Christmas Market at Stephen's Green

Christmas markets are popping up like mushrooms everywhere now in Ireland, it wasn't like that few years ago as far as I can remember. Beside the Stephen's Green Park, they've open the Christmas market, a bit narrow to my liking (perhaps to everyone else!) but that'll do. It's in city centre and we've only plan to eat, go about and leave.

Of course, we wouldn't leave leave without passing Grafton Street, window displays will always always catch my eyes ^,^

Relaxing Weekend

Snacking on popcorn coated smooth caramel and crunchy peanut butter #handmadeInEngland #popcorn | December 2014

Nothing beats a lazy weekend with no plans but to chill and drink beer ^.^ H surprised me with different flavours of popcorns from England and I liked them all. It’s been a week now and I still haven’t installed all my apps and programs in my new Macbook Pro, nor copy the files from my iMac but it’s okay. I just want a clean slate in this laptop, perhaps install the stuff I really needed. I like how my two macs talk to each other, like I can easily transfer files from one another using “shared networks”.

I recently bought 1 TB external hard drive which has been sitting on my desk for a while now. I just don’t have the energy to back up everything, I know, I’m too lazy.

Later we’re planning to go to Christmas market to eat German sausage and crepes ^.^

Wishlist 2014

A girl can dream and wish fabulous stuff as long as she wants. I know... I know... And I'd be more than happy to get half in my wishlist for this Christmas. I think I deserve it for being good this year haha! Christmas came early, as a matter of fact, H brought home the Macbook Pro he ordered last week, I was over the moon setting it all up and quite pleased how light it is compare to my old one. I'm thinking to pimp it with a marble skin case. That reminds me to order it online later :)

Oh Christmas!

Christmas decorations | December 2014

Every year, I don't put up a Christmas tree at home. It's just one of those things that don't happen. The least I could do is put a family of giant snowmen and add some white lights on top of it and it look, good by the way. And that's where we put our gifts to be open on Christmas eve.

However I do like looking at every Christmas tree I see every where, it uplifts my spirit and remember my childhood with my mum busy cooking in the kitchen while I watch Hello Kitty Holiday Special on TV.

Last Friday, I was invited by my ex-boss to attend Bart's farewell lunch, an ex-colleague. It was such a surprise to everyone as he kept it a secret 'til his last week in the office. Bart is one of the good, hardworking people I know. For all we know, he'll be staying at the company forever because that's how he is. He then realise that he has to move somewhere else which I think the right thing to do.

Seven years had past, the situation in the construction industry here in Ireland hasn't progress at all. A lot of us, engineers and architects, have neither moved to developing countries or ventured into another field. I'm glad I got out there quickly. Quickly enough to realised that I'm meant to do greater things. Looking back, I think that there were signs telling me I'm doing what I meant to do and I'm glad I found what I really love to do.

Thanksgiving

Symmetry | November 2014

A friend of mine surprisingly called me today. I was at my work desk so I had to find a place where I can speak louder and laugh to my heart's content. I was soon led to a quiet hallway facing the atrium. Since it's already dark by 4pm, all the lights are on, the beauty of our building is very obvious and waiting to be admired. This sight made me realise how lucky I am to have eyes to see beautiful things around me.

THANKSGIVING

In Ireland, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving. But it doesn't matter, I have lots of things to be thankful for so I'm listing it here:

- Most of the days, my morning always starts feeling grateful the moment I open my eyes. It started after reading "The Secret", something came over me and I always feel blessed.

- Little things like finding a space to park my car, eating banana chips, listening to interesting podcasts and exploring vintage shops.

- A great job that I really really really like.

- Friends I made who stick with me all these years. It's true, friends are lesser when you're older and I'm okay with that. I keep them as they keep me.
- My mother's cheerful personality reflects on me. It is something I'm proud to have - I'm cheerful and happy all the time. I grew up seeing her not sweating on small stuff so I do the same. I just wish she's still alive so I can tell her how much I love her and I appreciate all her sacrifices. And I think of her everyday.

- I'm grateful to have Poch in my life, she reminds me of me. She's exactly like me which makes me mad (good and bad) about her actually, lol!

- I'm grateful to have found true love, not all people find it and I'm glad that I have that. He is one of the best things that happened in my life.

Oreo Cupcakes!

Oreo cupcakes

Dreaming of cupcakes right now, actually, a lot of it. It's one of those days that you'd think sweets are girls' bestfriend ^_^ These Oreo cupcakes were baked by a good friend of mine few weeks ago when we met for Zumba class. She gave me four and thought they were aplenty but when I tasted it, it was heavenly delicious so ate three! I wish I've the passion to bake something but nah, I think I'll just wait for friends to make me one or I'll just buy....

Days are shorter, true enough winter is coming. I miss being sunkissed, the good thing though, I don't need sunscreen ^_^

Hope Monday is treating you all well, mine is not bad either xx

  Another sunny day. I ❤️ #London

I had a Good Sleep Last Night

Heathrow Terminal 2

Today, I'm feeling better. After a week of complaining about my back, the pain has finally subsided. I think it has to do something with the way I sleep. I never move when I'm asleep you see so over the years, I'm used to having stiff neck and backaches and was never bother by it anymore. Last week was the worse though, I couldn't move comfortably anymore and blamed my bed because I don't want to blame myself for not exercising heh. I decided to buy a mattress topper (but have to tweak it a little bit, don't ask how) which surprisingly did the works. My back pain slowly disappears after two nights sleeping on it.

Traveling and Terminal Airports

Heathrow Terminal 2 Heathrow Terminal 2 Heathrow Terminal 2
Heathrow Terminal 2
Heathrow Terminal 2

A lot of people I know loves to travel but only few of them likes to wait at the airport. For me, I love both, I actually enjoy waiting at the airport. I'm never the one running furiously to catch my flight, I like taking my time and walk around the shops few hours before hand.  God knows how much I plan ahead of my trips to the airport meticulously, I normally allow myself to go there 3-4 hours before flying. I also have a list in hand of the things I want to buy in Duty Free (*chuckles!). I know exactly where the stalls are, what make up and skin care I need to stock up.

I like to watch people, I make stories out of the scenes I see around. And I never ran out of things to imagine he he he. And if I get tired of it, I listen to my audiobooks - my new addiction, I'm constantly on it whenever I get the chance and waiting at the airport is a good time to catch up on my reading.

Some people likes to do little chats, I do avoid those but if happens, I don't mind it too.

The Liffey River

Liffey RiverLiffey River

How wonderful to have found this filter in my FujiFilm XT1 camera....

Hope you're having a good Sunday morning, later we're going to IKEA to buy a mattress, scented candles and whatnot and perhaps, go to town in the evening to gaze at Christmas city lights.

While I sip my coffee, I decide to post these two photos I've shot yesterday while participating a street photography walk. While the walk has nothing to do with landscape, I'd still took the time to stay a little in O' Connell Bridge to check the river on both sides. And fiddled with my camera.

London During Summer

Back when I only have two fixed lenses for my FujiFilm XT1, I'd always chose to bring the fisheye because it's wider and creates interesting bendy photographs.

Few days ago, I was looking for something to blog and found these London photos during summer. London is full of life, the possibilities are endless and I don't think it will ever stop.

I love love love London, I love the city life!
